BIOVAL Executive Meeting kicks off in Naples

The first BIOVAL Executive (kickstart) Meeting took place at the prestigious Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn in Naples on October 22–23, 2025. This inaugural session marked a pivotal moment for the consortium as partners gathered in person to align on the technical and strategic roadmap for the project’s duration.
Throughout the two-day event, partners engaged in detailed reviews of Work Packages 1 through 7, ensuring a shared understanding of deliverables and interdependencies. These discussions were critical for synchronizing efforts across the diverse scientific and industrial domains involved in sustainable microalgae valorization.
A significant portion of the agenda focused on foundational frameworks, including the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, data management protocols, and comprehensive quality and risk management plans. Establishing these standards early ensures that BIOVAL maintains the highest level of scientific integrity and impact.
The meeting successfully strengthened collaboration and trust among the consortium members, fostering a unified spirit to tackle the challenges of developing blue food solutions. With clear objectives and a solid operational structure now in place, the team is fully energized to commence the project’s operational phase.
